Emotional intelligence is a variable which is of immense importance in the education industry as it facilitates a teaching professional to develop a better understanding of the students taught. The method of teaching can then be tailor made to meet the requirement of the students. The aim of the present study is to find out if there is any difference in the emotional intelligence and job satisfaction level of the public and private teachers. The current research attempts to identify the demographic predictors of emotional intelligence and job satisfaction for Indian teaching professionals. A total of 500 teachers of public and private sector higher education institutions of North India were taken. The collected data were analyzed by using: Kruskal-Wallis one-way ANOVA with SPSS software. Findings of the study indicated a positive relation between job satisfaction and emotional intelligence.
