FILIPINO VALUES INFLUENCE ON SUCCESSOR’S SKILLS, WILLINGNESS AND COMMITMENT, AND FAMILY RELATIONSHIP TOWARDS SUCCESSION AMONG FAMILY-OWNED BAKESHOP IN MANILA CITY: BASIS FOR SUCCESSOR SUCCESSION FRAMEWORK

Family-owned bakeshops have become part of the Filipino lifestyle among local neighborhoods. These businesses are under the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Using Venter, Boshoff, and Maas Successor related factors theory, the study determines the perception of family-owned bakeshops regarding succession and how Filipino values (diskarte, lakas ng loob and Family kinship) are present in the successor’s skills, willingness and commitment, and relationship among selected bakeshops. The study determines the influence of the successor’s traits and characteristics about the successor and the relationship among these factors. Self-made questionnaires were distributed to thirty (30) family-owned bakeshops in Manila City. The study found that the family-owned bakeshop in manila city perceived succession as an essential part of the continuity of the business, and the successor’s traits and characteristics supported by Filipino values are highly influential in the succession process. Successors’ skills, willingness and commitment, and relationships are significantly related and positively influence succession. Filipino values do not directly relate to succession but positively influence successor traits and characteristics. The study suggests that the current owner’s family-owned bakeshop can use this study to evaluate their successor traits and characteristics supported by Filipino values to successfully transfer the management and ownership of the business from one generation to the next. Furthermore, the study proposed a succession model using Filipino values as an identifier of the successor’s traits and characteristics of a Filipino family-owned bakeshop and its influence in succession.

UNRAVELING THE DRIVERS OF SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING BEHAVIOR IN INSURANCE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES (CSR) IN GUANGDONG, CHINA: A TPB PERSPECTIVE

As society progresses, customer service personnel face increasing market demands, necessitating continuous self-directed learning to enhance their service capabilities and meet evolving customer expectations. Proactive self-learning enables customer service personnel to adapt to industry trends, refine skills, and meet personalized customer needs for organizational success. This study aims to investigate the influencing factors of customer service agents’ self-directed learning behavior by applying the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and utilizing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) for statistical analysis. In addition, the study explores the potential impact of goal setting as an additional factor to enhance the explanatory power of the proposed model. A sample of customer service agents from the targeted company was surveyed to gather data on their self-directed learning behavior, behavior intention, attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and goal-setting practices. The results revealed significant relationships between the TPB constructs and self-directed learning behavior, supporting the applicability of the theory in explaining the factors that influence learning autonomy in this context. Furthermore, the inclusion of goal setting as an additional factor demonstrated improved explanatory power in the model. The findings provide valuable insights for organizations seeking to enhance their customer service agents’ self-directed learning ability by considering the intention, attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and goal-setting practices within their training and development programs. The study discusses practical implications, recommendations for future research, and highlights avenues for further exploration.

DIGITAL SELF-IDENTITY IN THE AGE OF TECHNOLOGY OF THE NEW NORMAL LEARNING

The abrupt change in the educational system has compelled the entire academic community to adjust to the new way of learning. Many people, particularly students, have been affected by this move. This study will look into the relationship between digital self-identity, achievement emotion, and academic resilience among Arellano University-Manila students throughout the new normal learning period. To see if academic resilience mediates the association between digital self-identity and achievement feeling, a simple mediation analysis was undertaken using a generalized linear model mediation model. There has been 1181 people, or 60.26 percent, expressed a strong sense of digital self-identity, while 779 people, or 39.74 percent, expressed a strong sense of digital self-identity. The majority of respondents had a strong sense of digital self-identity. 1152 people (58.78%) expressed high levels of achievement emotion, while 809 people (41.22%) expressed low levels of achievement feeling. The majority of responders had a high level of achievement emotion. There has been 1249 people, or 63.27 percent, reported having low academic resilience, whereas 711 people, or 36.28 percent, reported having good academic resilience. There is a possibility of subjective bias in the responses in this study. This study should be replicated to see if the association between digital self-identity, academic resilience, and achievement emotion is consistent. Due to a dearth of current research, an in-depth study on the relationship between digital self-identity and academic resilience is also recommended.

FACTORS INFLUENCING CONSUMER’S PURCHASE DECISION-AN ANALYSIS OF SELECTED SUPERMARKET IN MALOLOS, BULACAN

This study was primarily undertaken to analyze the factors influencing consumers’ purchase decisions in selected supermarkets in Malolos, Bulacan. It involved students from X department of Catholic private school in Malolos, Bulacan as the area of respondents. A descriptive research design was used, and data were collected through survey questionnaires. The data underwent correlation analysis using IBM-SPSS. The study found that the independent variables had an influenced on consumers’ purchase decisions. Specifically, social media marketing, sales promotion, store environment, and perceived value were found to notably influenced consumer choices. The study recommends supermarket owners to focus more on social media marketing, as consumers rely heavily on social media platforms for information. Visibility of store brands on their social media pages or accounts would be beneficial.

ASSESSING THE SUITABILITY OF INDUSTRY-BASED TECHNOLOGIES LEARNING RESOURCES TO OLIVAREZ COLLEGE BUSINESS EDUCATION CURRICULA

The study examined the impact of adopting the SAP Business One Model on the business curricula of Olivarez College on the development of learning dimensions that covers the different areas of business which include (a) Accounting and Financials; (b) Sales and Customer Relationship Management; (c) Purchasing and Operations; (d) Inventory and Distributions and (e) Reporting and Administration. The descriptive analysis method of research was utilized. It was found that information from the different modules of SAP Business One Enterprise Resource Planning matched with the business administration curricula of Olivarez College. The process integrates various functions of a business including inventory and order management; accounting; human resources and customer relationship management which results in a streamlined process and available information to various users designed through a shared database. Thus, it is recommended to design the curriculum using industry-based technologies to produce graduates that possess a familiarity with business operations and equip them with critical decision-making skills for strategic and executive work necessary for competing in the ever-changing world of global business.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL PERFORMANCE OF MANAGERS OF SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SMES)

The study ascertained the relationship between the business environment and the entrepreneurial performance of SME managers in Anambra State. Two research questions guided the study and three null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. Correlational research design was used for the study. The population of the study consisted of 2,745 registered SMEs in the State. Simple random sampling was used to select 400 SME managers for the study. The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire titled ‘Business Environment as a correlate of Entrepreneurial Performance of SME managers (BEEPSMEM)’ which was validated by three experts with an overall reliability coefficient of 0.81 obtained using Cronbach alpha’s method. Pearson Product Moment correlation was used to answer the research questions while, linear and multiple regression were used to test the null hypotheses. Findings of the study revealed that internal and external business environment had positive and significant (interactive) relationship with the entrepreneurial performance of SME managers. The study therefore concluded that the performance of SME managers are influenced by internal and external business environment. It was recommended among others that, SME managers should always observe their environment to identify threats and opportunities that may occur, so as to swiftly adjust to the situation.

A STUDY ON THE METHODOLOGY EMPLOYED BY TEACHERS IN RELATION TO THE UNDERGRADUATE’S GRAMMATICAL ERRORS IN THE MUET EXTENDED WRITING

The purpose of this research is to analyse the various approaches that instructors take to addressing and fixing grammatical faults that are made by undergraduate students. It is crucial for educators to adopt proper procedures for error correction since grammatical faults can hamper effective communication and language proficiency. The purpose of this study is to shed light on the efficacy and impact of various teaching techniques on the growth and improvement of students’ language skills by conducting an analysis of the methods that teachers use in their classrooms. Observations of classes, conversations with instructors, and questionnaires filled out by undergraduate students will all be used to compile the data. In the context of undergraduate education, the findings will provide insights into effective practices for treating grammatical faults.

PARLIAMENTARY DEMOCRACY OF A STATE: BANGLADESH PERSPECTIVE

The Prime Minister (PM) as the head of government in a parliamentary democracy enjoys power and influence of infinite degree in the overall institutional set up. Democratic structure of cabinet government based on the supremacy of political leadership represents a manifestation of the collective actions of the ministers with the Prime Minister taking the lead. Absolute and even simple majority in the parliament is crucial for enabling political leadership to reign supreme in every course of action. The key note of the cabinet government is PM. Membership strength of the treasury bench in the parliament accounts much for the growth of ‘premier domination’ in the context of cabinet dictatorship. Its authoritarian face speaks for itself with deeply embedded institutional paramount of the office of PM. The cabinet consisting of PM and his/her ministerial colleagues lies at the apex of central administration. It is the ultimate decision making body in central administration. All ministers except a few chosen from technocrat quota are politicians with seats in the parliament.

CREATING A MOTIVATING WORK CULTURE: INVESTIGATING THE ROLE OF ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE IN LUXURY HOTEL EMPLOYEE’S SATISFACTION AND PERFORMANCE

The investigation into the establishment of an inspiring work environment in luxury hotel settings is suggested by this paper. The purpose of the study is to investigate how, in this particular industry, organizational climate affects employee performance and satisfaction. It explores the elements of leadership, cooperation, communication, and employee well-being that go into creating an inspiring culture. Through an analysis of the effects of organizational climate, the study aims to comprehend how workers’ views, job satisfaction, and performance outcomes are influenced in the luxury hotel industry. The results of this study might be used to develop tactics that will increase employee happiness, create a positive work environment, and raise performance indicators-all of which would help luxury hotel operations succeed.

DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF A WEBSITE PLATFORM FOR HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Many higher education websites use general-purpose platforms like Joomla and WordPress, but functionality and features were not specifically designed for such use. This study focuses on designing and developing a customized platform to cater to the needs of higher education institutions by having an interactive and content-rich website. This study aimed to provide the different offices with access and the ability to add and modify information about their respective offices, faculty deliverables, and an internal messaging solution. Further, it also aims to evaluate the developed online platform based on the ISO 25010 Software Quality Model and Quality in Use. The researcher used a descriptive-developmental research method and utilized the rapid prototyping methodology in developing the system. The system was developed using PHP as the scripting language and MySQL as the DBMS. Upon evaluation, it was found to be of good quality and usable, thus Implementation of the system was highly recommended.
