EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF JOB FAIRS AND EMPLOYMENT WEBINARS: AN IMPACT ASSESSMENT ON CAREER READINESS AND EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES
This study assesses the overall satisfaction and hiring rates of graduating students across diverse career and job placement activities within multiple academic departments. Findings reveal that satisfaction levels range from “Very Satisfactory” to “Excellent,” with an overall weighted mean of 4.53, indicating high student appreciation for career services. Departments with “Excellent” ratings, such as F (4.80) and E (4.75), highlight particularly effective initiatives, whereas departments with “Very Satisfactory” scores suggest opportunities for enhancement. Despite these favorable satisfaction ratings, the overall hiring rate was relatively low at 6.74%, indicating a need for improved job placement strategies. Key influences on career development include workshops that bolster interview confidence, resume-writing sessions enhancing self-marketing skills, job fairs facilitating networking, and resilience training fostering adaptability.
The action plan developed addresses these findings through strategies such as targeted focus groups, skill-enhancing workshops, and stronger industry partnerships to boost hiring rates. Recommendations emphasize continuous program improvement to align with dynamic market needs and expand job readiness. Enhancing student participation and tracking hiring outcomes will further strengthen the impact of career services.
