EVALUATING THE FUNCTIONALITY, DESIGN, AND EFFECTIVENESS OF KAT-ON: A WEB-BASED ASSESSMENT TOOL FOR PRESCHOOL STUDENTS
This study focused on the design, development, and evaluation of KAT-ON, a web-based assessment tool tailored for one-on-one preschool evaluations. Employing a descriptive-developmental framework, the system was iteratively refined using feedback from ten IT experts and fifteen preschool teachers via a validated questionnaire. The evaluation focused on three dimensions-functionality, design quality, and effectiveness-measured on a 5-point Likert scale. Results demonstrated high user satisfaction, with grand mean scores of 4.82 (functionality), 4.74 (design), and 4.83 (effectiveness), indicating that KAT-ON simplifies data retrieval, offers intuitive navigation, and integrates engaging multimedia suited to early learners. Teachers and experts concurred that the application enhances accuracy in performance tracking, fosters student engagement, and streamlines teacher workload. The tool’s child-appropriate interface and real-time reporting capabilities address challenges in parent-teacher communication and progress monitoring. These findings suggest that KAT-ON is a viable solution for improving assessment practices in early childhood education and offers a scalable model for future digital learning platforms.
