JOB SATISFACTION TO EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT OF PHARMACISTS IN SELECTED HOSPITAL: BASIS FOR ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM

Job satisfaction plays a vital role in shaping employee engagement, particularly in healthcare settings where professional performance directly affects patient outcomes. Pharmacists, as essential members of the healthcare team, require supportive work environments, fair compensation, and opportunities for professional growth to maintain high levels of engagement. Despite their importance, limited studies have explored the relationship between job satisfaction and employee engagement among pharmacists in primary hospitals in Bulacan, Philippines. This study aimed to examine the level of job satisfaction and employee engagement and determine the relationship and predictive effect between these variables. This study employed a quantitative descriptive-correlational research design involving 100 licensed pharmacists from selected primary hospitals in Bulacan. A structured, validated questionnaire was used to measure job satisfaction (work environment, salary and benefits, professional development) and employee engagement (job performance, employee retention, work-life balance). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression, with a significance level set at 0.05. The study concludes that job satisfaction is a key driver of employee engagement among pharmacists. Enhancing workplace conditions, compensation structures, professional development, and leadership support can significantly improve engagement, retention, and performance. These findings highlight the need for targeted organizational strategies to sustain a motivated and competent pharmacy workforce and to improve overall healthcare service delivery.
